This official Lake O’Hara parking lot is better than any unofficial parking lot. Where are you going to park if you don’t park here? In a secret forest parking lot? On the train tracks? On the side of a busy highway where a maniac might sideswipe your Subaru? Believe me, this is the best option. You might be nervously wondering where is this parking lot? How will we get there on time to catch a shuttle? Don’t worry, you’ll find it. Look for the signs, you got this.

If you are lucky, you have permit to ride the bus here. If you do not have permit, beyond this point to Lake O’Hara, we will need to walk to the lake.

Google wants ratings on parking lots? Uh...it was nicely flat and no surface accumulation of water. Free to use. 9 out of 10 dentists would recommend.

Walked 11km of the fire road. Kept an eye out for the markers on trees but 8km marker was nowhere in sight. Took plenty of stops hiking on the fire road as there were plenty of uphill and zigzag inclines. Only was able to do Lake O’ Hara circuit — the lake was beautiful and Seven Veils Falls was cool and refreshing. We sat on the rocks near the bridge of Seven Fails to eat a sandwich. Our main goal was to hike up to Opabin Plateau but a Parks Canada official advised us not to go there. The trail to Opabin Plateau was still covered in snow, so it would’ve been hard to see the trail (and we didn’t bring crampons). When the Parks Canada official said 2 people got lost, that helped make our minds not to pursue it but just complete the Lake O’ Hara circuit (hike the shorelines of Lake O’ Hara).
