I would highly recommend the PDC at Finca Tierra to anyone reading this, as there is something that has sparked your interest if you are here. For me it was an opportunity to learn more about how to live from the land, disconnect from my daily life, and reconnect to nature, and it proved to be this and much more. Fresh food, great conversations, lots of learning, and I am looking forward to implementing what I have learnt in the coming months. I even met a long lost cousin who was also doing the course!

An incredible experience, don´t doubt to obtain your permaculture design course there, your expectations will be exceeded. The place is beautiful, hidden on an incredible mountain setting in the South Caribbean of Costa Rica. The food is really outstanding with all ingredients grown there. The course is designed in a very clear step by step to obtain full understanding of all the details you need to know to become a great permaculturist. Ana and Ian are amazing teachers and humans, you´ll learn a lot from them. And you´ll probably make incredible friends. There is much more to say but it´s better for you to find out, DO IT!

The 2-week program at Finca Tierra is an excellent starting point for anyone who has ever wondered about how to practically live and eat healthy off the land while also looking to pursue a regenerative way of living. Ian and Ana are seasoned practitioners of permaculture, great hosts, and live and lead by example! I have understood more about the building blocks of permaculture from them than from any of the permaculture books that I have read along the way.

If you’re wondering if it’s worth flying across the world to experience Finca Tierra, it absolutely is. Ian & Ana have painstakingly taken their experiences over the last ten years and compiled the vast collection of knowledge into an easy to understand curriculum. This is a course that can easily accommodate both the beginner and the advanced student as the curriculum is laid out in easy to grasp concepts while having easy access to the incredible minds who created this wealth of knowledge, to be able to ask the harder, more advanced questions. Not only are you able to listen to lectures that stimulate your brain, there are plenty of opportunities for hands on learning with other students side by side with plenty of guidance along the way. This means that however you best learn, you will be able to follow through with this experience and return home ready to make an impact in your own lives. You will leave having made connections to people who dream along the same lines as you do. I think that’s the icing on this wonderful cake. Friendships with people who love nature as you do. And speaking of icing…the food served from the wellness kitchen was truly something remarkable. We were able to eat food from sources literally all around us. The diversity of what we ate showed that Ian and Ana don’t just talk about it. They do it. I am so grateful for the ladies in the kitchen who kept us well fed for two entire weeks. Their skills in the kitchen made every meal something to look forward to. When you experience the freshest ingredients combined with the recipes passed down from Ana’s indigenous background, you’ll wish you could eat this way forever more. I truly cannot say enough good things about Finca Tierra. Pura Vida y’all!
